EPIC FAIL

So my goal of finishing  up my Dwarfs by year end never happened. I was able to finish the Gyro and Bugman, so it wasn't a total loss. I plan to continue with the "to do" list but I think I will set a goal for each month to make it more manageable.

My goal for January therefore is the following:

20 Warriors w/GW

Short and sweet. These models are already assembled, so it should go quickly. In addition to finishing my Dwarfs I have started a Beastman army and have been playing with the idea of finishing my Orks (40K). So much to paint..so little time!

First attempt at dipping.

I tried out the latest in dipping technologies recently and thought I would share. I primed the model using Army Painter Leather Brown and painted directly over the fleshy bits using Tallern Flesh and Dwarf Flesh.   The metal was painted Boltgun metal, cloth Mechrite Red and bone color using Bleached Bone. After this, I just dipped in Army Painter Quick Shade: Strong Tone, let dry 24 hours and hit with some Dullcoate. Painting really only took me about ten minutes since the AP primer did most of the work. This stuff wins product of the year from me for sure!

The Bugman himself...

Just wrapped up painting Josef Bugman. Gyro is done too but working on a magnetized stand/base. Should have pics soon.

That is two miniatures off a long list. I am going to need to speed things up a little to meet my goal.

Gyrocopter and Daemon Slayer

In between watching the paint and glue dry on my other projects, I managed to start working on the Gyrocopter. I have the newer version of the gyro put there is something about this one I like better. The rotor blades are still primer black so I left them off the model. Also, I included some pics of the Daemon Slayer I recently painted. I tried to make it less shiny and also cleaned up some parts.

Enjoy!

Josef Bugman and Friends

For about 9 years Dwarfs flew under my gaming radar. It wasn't till last year when I was looking for a fast army with a minimal amount of models needed to play that I started collecting these hairy little drunks. In about  2 months I was able to get a 2,000 point army assembled and painted. So far I have a record of 3 wins and 5 loses with the little guys. My goal now is to make them into a more competitive list. Here is a list of the few additions I hope to finish by year end to get these guys back in the win column.

Josef Bugman (for the points he is one bad dude)
29 Rangers
30 Warriors
1 Runelord (to replace a proxy model)
1 Grudge Thrower plus 3 crew
5 Iron Breakers
5 Slayers
1 Gyrocopter

So this is the goal, get these models assembled and painted by year end. That is 76 models in 5 months..sure why not.
